QUEBEC CITY, November 12-13, 2009 -- The SKC-ECD and the Centre of Excellence for Early Childhood Development (CEECD) hosted a conference on school readiness that will focus on research, practice and political issues related to school readiness.

Montreal, May 28,2010 -- At the 31st annual conference of the AECEQ and the CCCF: our time to shine!, Meggan Ladd (Concordia University) presented a workshop that explores many aspects of school readiness, including physical, motor, linguistic, cognitive, social and emotional development, as well as attitudes toward learning and general knowledge.
“There is increasing evidence that the origins of mental health problems diagnosed in later childhood, adolescence and adulthood can be found during pregnancy and very early childhood.”
The SKC-ECD, in partnership with the Maternal, Infant, Child and Youth Research Network (MICYRN) and the Institute of Human Development, Child and Youth Health (IHDCYH), has compiled an Inventory of pregnancy and birth cohort studies in Canada.
